How are we funded?

Nurture Parents is both a charity (SC 048424) and a Social Enterprise.

Nurture Parents became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) in May 2018. The charitable purposes of Nurture Parents are to promote and advance the emotional and physical health of pregnant women, parents and families through the provision of physical, emotional and practical support.

Nurture Parents follows the Voluntary Code of Practice for Social Enterprises in Scotland. This means any profits will be re-invested in the project, benefiting the community of parents in Dundee.

The long-term aim is for financial sustainability. However, Nurture Parents is currently funded by grants from national and local awarding bodies, including:

The Big Lottery Awards for All

UnLtd

NHS Tayside Community Innovation Fund

The Northwood Charitable Trust

Nurture Parent’s mission is to help all Dundee parents to have the best experiences they possibly can during pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. We aim to offer parents holistic support so they can build their own resilience, help their children flourish, improve the mental and physical well-being of their family and strengthen the community around them.
